Cleaning around my community is a very relaxing thing to do, not only will you enjoy but also contribute as well to the environment. Cleaning can also be a form of exercise, therefore cleaning is also beneficial to our health. Me and my classmate volunteered to help the baranggay officials to clean around the church. This is a similar case in Myanmar where a community clean up was done to beat plastic pollution. Community participation is indispensable to the success of solid waste management at local level and such campaigns offered the residents an opportunity to demonstrate their willingness to do community development work and to learn on how to adapt for climate change impacts.
Upon seeing leaves scattered on the sidewalk, we decided to give it a change and make a huge impact. Cleaning made even the small shine again. We are so glad to help the community to improve.

Attended by 50 participants, the activity was a proactive response to Pope Francis’ Laudato Si and in support of the University’s goal of involving the administrators, faculty members, support staff and alumni.
