Becoming a healthcare professional is not easy because it requires many years of studying and training. Students who want to become doctors usually study subjects related to Medicine and Biology. During the festival, many towns participate in street dancing and cultural presentations, especially in Vigan City. The performers wear colorful costumes inspired by local traditions and history. The sound of drums, music, and cheering makes the whole place lively and joyful. It is really amazing to see how much effort the participants give in their performances. Many towns also showcased their products as part of showing off their own culture, heritage, and traditions.

Vigan in Full Festive Bloom: A Fiesta to Remember

 

The Bigueños celebrate the Fiesta of the Conversion of St. Paul with deep faith, pride in heritage, and joyful community spirit. The celebration begins with religious activities such as novena masses, a solemn fiesta Mass, and a grand procession honoring St. Paul, the city’s patron saint. Devotees participate prayerfully, showing gratitude and devotion passed down through generations.

Upon walking through the entire city, we could gaze upon the joyous moments where the town feast is partaking. The bustling streets are filled with tourists and locals who gathered to celebrate the fiesta with unity, joy and pride. This event paved the way for the Bigueños to show case their rich culture and beautiful traditions, while also boosting tourism for the city. In the image above, we could see how they celebrated with street dancing, like longganisa festival wherein they danced gracefully in the cobblestone streets of Vigan. Looking at the street performances, traditional music, and visitors dressed in their best fiesta outfits. Local delicacies like empanada, bagnet, and longganisa are everywhere, making the celebration a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.

As the journey continues, the city slowly transforms into a busy place, people are preparing for the night event. The tourist spots remained packed and everyone is happily enjoying the fiesta. At night, lights illuminate the historic houses, and the joyful energy of the crowd makes the fiesta unforgettable.

Growing Through Challenges: My Third Quarter Journey

During the third quarter, I gained new learnings and discoveries that helped me grow academically and personally. I learned to understand lessons more deeply through activities, discussions, and hands-on tasks, which improved my critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I also discovered the importance of responsibility, discipline, and active participation in class, as these helped me perform better and become more confident in my abilities as a learner.

However, this quarter was not always easy. I struggled with managing my time, especially when several activities and deadlines piled up. There were moments when lessons felt difficult to understand, which made me feel stressed and overwhelmed. Balancing schoolwork with personal responsibilities was challenging, and there were times when I doubted my abilities. These took a huge toll on my mental wellbeing, resulting to my laziness.

To overcome these challenges, I learned to be more patient with myself and take things one step at a time. I started organizing my tasks and reminding myself of deadlines so I would not cram at the last minute. When I did not understand a lesson, I asked questions, reviewed my notes, and sought help from classmates and teachers. These small efforts helped me stay on track and slowly regain my confidence.

Moving on, I will apply the lessons I learned from this quarter by managing my time more wisely and staying consistent in my studies. I will continue to improve my skills, actively participate in class, and face future challenges with confidence and determination. With a positive mindset and continuous effort, I aim to achieve better outcomes in the next quarter.

When people think of the Philippines, one of the first names that comes to mind is José Rizal. He is considered the face of the nation because he stood for the Filipino people during a time when they had very little voice. Rizal did not come from power or wealth, but he used his intelligence, compassion, and love for his country to speak out against injustice.

Rizal’s greatest contribution to Philippine society was awakening the Filipino sense of nationalism. Through his novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, he showed the harsh realities of life under Spanish rule. Because of this, many began to realize that what they were experiencing was wrong and that change was possible.

 The celebration of National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month made me realize how important indigenous communities are to the identity of the Philippines. The theme “Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development” reminded me that our country’s progress should not come at the cost of losing our roots. Instead, development should grow alongside culture, respect, and understanding.

Child abuse is a crucial crime we are facing. The government plays a crucial role in protecting children from Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM). In recent years, many governments—including the Philippines—have strengthened laws, invested in technology, and partnered with international organizations to track offenders and shut down harmful online content. Elpidio Quirino: The President Who Rebuilt a Nation from Ashes

Elpidio Quirino, the sixth President of the Philippines, was born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Coming from a modest family, Quirino understood early the value of perseverance and education. He worked hard as a student and eventually graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law. His humble beginnings shaped his passion for public service and his desire to uplift the lives of ordinary Filipinos.

Before becoming president, Quirino built a strong career in government. He served as a teacher, a clerk, and later as a lawyer. His political life started when he became a representative of Ilocos Sur, then a senator. He also played a major role as part of the Filipino delegation in the 1935 Constitutional Convention, helping shape the foundation of the Philippine Commonwealth. Eventually, he became Vice President under President Manuel Roxas, and after Roxas’ sudden death in 1948, Quirino assumed the presidency.

As president, Quirino focused on rebuilding the Philippines after the destruction of World War II. Vigan gained its name because of its spanish architecture, deep culture and history. Upon mentioning Vigan, I first thought of its heart, which is the Calle Crisologo. I was captivated by its glowing streets and quaint structures, not only that but also it is filled with smiles and warmness from the tourist to the locals. There, it showcased Vigan’s rooted history from the Spanish colonial period. We can find numerous products like keychains, longganisa, furnitures and etc, and also famous stores such as Island souvenirs, 1995 Studio Cafe, Amian Cafe and Starbucks. Its remarkable beauty mixed with European, Asian, and Latin influences, offering visitors a glimpse into the Philippines rich colonial past. Thus, this famous street makes Vigan a famous tourist attraction. Visiting Vigan made me appreciate my city’s heritage and deepened my respect for our province.

Aside from Calle Crisologo, Baluarte Zoo is also a renowned place in Vigan. It is a zoological park established by Chavit Singson. This zoo is filled with different kinds of animals from other countries, most exotic animals are also found here like Alligators, Lions, and a lot more. Not only can you see those animals in real life, but you also interacted with them, like Giraffe feeding and picture taking with Lions! From mammals to insects, Baluarte also has its beautiful garden filled with butterflies with colorful wings. This place also offer a Gallery which you can tour and see species hunted by Chavit. The gallery is filled with taxidermied animals which makes you feel like seeing them in real life. Visiting Baluarte Zoo made me realize how important it is to appreciate and protect wildlife. It also made me reflect on how humans play a big role in preserving the environment and showing compassion toward all living creatures. Overall, the experience was not just fun and educational, but also inspiring since it reminded me to value life in all its forms and to be more responsible in caring for our planet.

The museum complex was the former home of Padre José Burgos House, one of the martyred priests known as Gomburza. It used to be a city jail and there, history was made when Former President Elpidio Quirino was born there. The museum is managed by the National Museum of the Philippines, and it aims to promote Ilocano culture, and historical awareness through its collections and exhibits. There you’ll find a rich collection of artifacts, paintings, and historical displays that highlight us Ilocanos. Visitors can explore exhibits on Ilocano weaving, pottery, and art that the region’s creativity and heritage. Exploring the museum wasn’t just a stroll through history, it felt like looking back from time with my own culture. Each exhibit connected me more deeply to the Filipino story, the struggles for independence shown at the basi revolution from the paintings, Ilocano inventions, and the artistry made from abel weaving and painting born out of everyday life. I found myself reflecting on how our present culture were shaped by generations who valued history, courage, and community.

This quarter was a tough one—yet, we made it out. Throughout 2nd Quarter I learned a lot of new things, I am so glad that I was able to dicover and experience stuff that I havent encountered before. In Ict, I learned all about html coding and etc.

Although, I have made it this far, I faced a lot of challenges. I find myself not having the motivation to study. I procrastinated a lot during this quarter and I haven’t been able to focus lately, I felt overwhelmed even with the slightest task and I somehow feel really tired after.

I adressed these challenges by reminding myself of my long-term goals and the reasons why I started in the first place. I also reached out for support when I needed it, whether it was talking to friends, classmates, or simply taking time to rest and recharge.

Overall, I am still striving for the best, and I’ll continue to do what I can to overcome these challenges. I will also try and prevent myself from somehow burning out. Lastly, I am a human being and everyone is valid to be lazy.
